The Oshawa Church Hockey League was founded in 1947 and since that time has been considered the premier house league in southern Ontario. The reason our League has gained such a reputation is due to the thousands of volunteers donating their time and talents over the many years. Without these volunteers no organization can survive. The O.C.H.L. has been blessed with having volunteers who have given of themselves over the years, enduring long hours at the cold arena, long meetings and in the latter years a severe shortage of ice. In 1995 the League established a Life Members Roll. This roll is made up of all persons as the Board of Directors sees fit to honour for exemplary service to the League. Each such person shall receive membership and one voting right upon induction as a Life Member. To date there have been thirty-eight people inducted as Life Members. The following is the list of those dedicated people. Their induction date is in brackets following their name. James Hardy and Beverly Matthews were inducted posthumously as the first two inductees in 1995.
